Sunny Lane is an incredibly talented adult film star, director, model, mainstream actress and feature dancer who has been working in the adult entertainment industry since 2004. Due to her sensational scenes in countless best-selling porn productions, Sunny won “New Starlet (Editor’s Choice)” at the 2005 Nightmoves Awards as well as “Best POV Sex Scene” and “Best Anal Sex Scene” at the AVN Awards in 2008 and 2009. After resuming her amazing adult film career in 2014 Sunny swiftly won “Best Cumback” at the 2014 XRCO Awards and she was inducted into the Nightmoves Awards “Hall Of Fame” in 2015. One thing’s for sure, Sunny looks set to remain as one of the adult film industry’s most popular performers for many years to come!
So where did it all begin? Born and raised in Georgia, Sunny was a talented figure skater and ice skater throughout her younger years who had aspirations of competing in the Olympics. Sunny has stated within her May 2011 XXX Wasteland interview that;
“I was a Junior Olympian. I’m very fortunate: My parents supported me no matter what I wanted to do in life and I got to play a sport, which was ice skating. I did all three elements – from figures to dance to freestyle/artistic. It was so much fun and such a blessing to be able to do, as I got to enjoy and show my talent of being able to tell a story without opening my mouth – having the talent with my body and my gift of skating. I’m very blessed that I got to do that and become a coach – coach kids, senior citizens and choreograph their programs and get to see them compete. So, I am blessed and very thankful”.
Unfortunately, foot surgery left Sunny unable to compete so she started working as a Yoga and Pilates instructor as well as turning her passion for performing towards feature dancing. As Sunny herself explained during her April 2015 Adult DVD Talk interview;
“Ever since I was 7 years old, I was trained as a roller skater then I switched over to ice skating. I won 3 gold medals my first competition. Then I got with the Olympic coaches and my family moved from Orlando to Tampa. And that’s where I became an ice skater and was in the Junior Olympics. I was the victim of a car accident and that ended my career. That changed my life…
It ended my Olympic dream. They told me I would never skate again. After a couple of years of training, I was able to build my muscles back up so I could do ice dancing. I couldn’t jump and do the things that I used to but I could do the ice dancing. I got back into the Pro Am where I was competing with my coach. I owned my own business at the ice skating rink called Fit For Fitness For Yoga. That was really awesome. I had hip surgery and that’s what changed my career again. From there, I asked the Tampa Bay Lightning NHL team what was the hottest place to go to and they said Déjà Vu, which was right down the street from the skating rink. I literally went there in my tennis shoes and bobby socks and I took my skating resume. They said I was definitely overqualified. I told them I was an entertainer and very comfortable in my own skin and they gave me a job. After one year, I won Showgirl of the Year of 2004″.
Within no time at all Sunny began to attract critical acclaim for her feature dancing shows – being crowned as Déjà Vu’s “Showgirl of the Year” in 2004, winning “Best Feature Dancer (Fans’ Choice)” at the 2008 Nightmoves Awards and being named as Déjà Vu’s first ever contract feature dancer in 2009-2010 as part of their Girl Next Door Déjà Vu Tour. When she was asked about her feature dancing career within her April 2015 Adult DVD Talk interview, Sunny elaborated upon how;
“Everyone asks this, people are like, ‘How can she go from ice skating to dancing. Ooh, that’s a big one!’ It really comes down to comfortability. I’m in this little tiny outfit on the ice skating rink telling a story. Or I’m on the dance floor telling a story with my body. Now I get to open my mouth and communicate with people on a whole different level”.
Wondering how Sunny progressed from feature dancing to performing in porn? Well, it all started in 2004 when Sunny appeared on HBO’s reality TV series Cathouse. By doing so, Sunny was able to attend the AVN Awards and meet Ferrell Hirsh, the head of Playboy Radio, who invited her to appear as a regular star on several Playboy Radio shows including Night Calls and Whore Talk.
In fact, Sunny was even featured within Playboy Magazine’s best-selling Lingerie Issue, she has posed for the cover of Playboy Magazine and she has since been featured on the covers of such prominent publications as Hustler, Penthouse, People Australia and Club International but to name a few! During her April 2015 Adult DVD Talk interview Sunny explained how feature dancing enabled her to make her adult film industry debut, highlighting how;
“When I became Showgirl of the Year, Dennis Hof came in for the Nightmoves Awards show in Tampa. I got to meet everyone… Seymour Butts, Ron Jeremy, Dennis.. everyone. Ron and I had a really great connection. Two weeks later, I won tickets to the Billboard awards and Ron and Dennis were together doing the radio interviews. Ron said he remembered me from Tampa and we just had that connection. Dennis and myself then hooked up and got together for a year and I started working at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch. I was on HBO and all that stuff. When he and I broke up, I went back to Tampa and Nightmoves made me their Calendar Cover Girl of 2005 and brought me out to the AVN’s. I was found by Playboy Television, Farrell Hirsch. And that’s how I found my way into the adult industry”.
Sunny Lane : Adult Film Career
Sunny first began working in the adult film industry in 2004 whereupon she started performing under the stage name ‘Sunny Lane’. Sunny discussed the origins of her porn star persona during her May 2016 CJ Asher interview, revealing that;
“People always told me that I had a “sunny” disposition, and that I brought sunshine into their lives. So, when I started working in the adult industry, I thought of the name Sunny Lane. That way, if the fans wanted some sunshine, they would have to come down my lane!”.
Interested in checking out some of Sunny Lane’s sauciest sex scenes? Then you have to watch her saucy scenes in the New Sensations feature release Dark Angels 2: Bloodline (2005) that won “Best Feature Film” at the 2006 VOD Awards, her first ever anal scene with Manuel Ferrara in Big Wet Asses 13 (2008) for Elegant Angel which won “Best Anal Sex Scene” at the 2009 AVN Awards and her raunchy group shoot with Ava Rose, Bree Olson, Eva Angelina, Eric Swiss and Mikey Butders in the Zero Tolerance production Roller Dollz (2008) which was nominated for “Best Overall DVD” at the 2008 Empire Awards. When she was asked to name some of her favourite scenes within her May 2016 CJ Asher interview, Sunny mentioned that;
“I really like story/script driven films. In addition to the sex that I perform in movies… I really, love to act, and carry out the roles of my characters. So, the more dialogue, the better. I loved doing Dark Angels 2: Bloodline, Alice, Batgirl XXX, Roller Dollz, The Stripper 2, Love Boat, and a lot of the script-driven roles, and parodies of mainstream movies. And I still love to do the Gonzo, as well: Big Wet Asses 13, Goo Girls 26 – which were both AVN Award winners – POV Fantasies, etc”.
Over the years Sunny has become famous for her critically acclaimed porn parodies. Fans of Sunny Lane will love viewing her epic group sex scene with Aurora Snow, Daisy Layne, Candice Nicole, Kelly Skyline, Madison Ivy, Marli Jane and Winter Sky in Not Bewitched XXX (2008) for X-Play/Adam & Eve that won “Best Sex Comedy” at the 2009 AVN Awards and her thrilling three-way with Aurora Snow and Phoenix Marie in Batgirl XXX: An Extreme Comixxx Parody (2012) which was nominated for “Parody Release of the Year: Comedy” at the 2013 XBIZ Awards and “Best Parody: Comic Book” at the 2013 XRCO Awards.
We also recommend watching Sunny’s sultry non-sex appearance in Not The Jersey Boys XXX (2014) for X-Play that won “First Choice Winners” at the 2014 Nightmoves Awards and “Best Soundtrack” at the 2015 AVN Awards as well as her terrific three-way with Penny Pax and Seth Gamble in Love Boat XXX (2014) for X-Play/Adam & Eve which earned Sunny a “Best Actress – Parody Release” nomination at the 2014 XBIZ Awards.
One of Sunny’s most popular porn parodies to date has been Alice (2010) for Cal Vista/Metro. Directed by Erica McLean and starring Aiden Starr, Andy San Dimas, April Flores, Katie St. Ives and Kimberly Kane, this Alice In Wonderland inspired porn parody featured Sunny in the lead role of ‘Alice’ and it was nominated for “Best Parody: Drama” at the 2010 AVN Awards. Sunny loved tackling this leading role and conveyed during her September 2010 Luke Is Back interview how;
“Alice is one of those Disney characters that everybody just loves. I always wanted to be Alice to step into that fantasy world. I was lucky to step into it as an adult so I could combine my fantasies with her fantasies…
I went to the Venus Berlin Germany show last year with Hot Movies and that’s where I met Erica McLean. Our first encounter was wonderful. She just flew in the night before. The next morning I was in the lobby with my straight blonde hair and she ran up to me and said, ‘You’re my Alice’. I said, ‘Whatever you want me to do, I’m yours’…What a wonderful experience. She knows how to bring fantasy to life. She brings out sexual artistic expression with every character. She inspires me as a director and more importantly as a person…
It was fun and exciting and challenging. I had to create my own version of ‘Alice’ who had to be more than the girl next door, she had to be super sexual too, but that’s who I am so I welcomed the challenge because there’s acting in the dialogue but there’s also acting in the sex, too. I had to have sex in character with 3 different partners in this film and if you think about your personal life sexually you’re different with everyone you sleep with. Like I said there’s acting in the sex too. That’s why I love my job”.

“I was soooo excited about being nominated. It’s truly an honor because there are so many in the industry that didn’t even get to that point. I look at it as I have been in the business for only one year and I was just so grateful and honored to have my name up there and be recognized within the industry by my peers. I was really excited”.
Sunny Lane : Directorial Debut, Adult Film Industry Hiatus & Comeback Career
A landmark moment in Sunny’s adult film career came in 2010 when she made her directorial debut with the Tom Byron Pictures femdom pegging themed production Strap-On Sunny (2010). Sunny has since directed the SunLust Pictures production Project Spotlight: Dana’s World (2014) starring Dana DeArmond, Ela Darling, Jessie Andrews, Kayla Price, Penny Pax, Riley Jensen and Victoria Lawson.
From 2012 onwards Sunny took a brief hiatus from performing in porn but she made her triumphant return in late 2014 – winning “Best Cumback” at the 2014 XRCO Awards. Talking about her reasons for resuming her adult film career within her April 2015 Adult DVD Talk interview, Sunny explained how;
“I took a little hiatus to get a little breather and try something unconventional. It didn’t work out and so I came back to the industry where I feel like I’m at home and I’m able to express myself and be the person that I am and be an independent woman. I’m very thankful being able to come back to it…I’m just really happy to be back in the industry. I’m happy to have my career again. Literally, when you let something go that you have a passion for and you try something new that doesn’t work out, when you come back to it, you have to pick Humpy Dumpy off the floor. You have to dust her off, you have to clean things up. You have to pick up where you dropped everything off. You have to get your social media back. It’s a huge process to come back a second time. So that being said, it’s been a lot of work, but I’m really happy”.
Since resuming her adult film career Sunny has been featured in several best-selling porn productions and DVD compilation titles including Jack’s Ultimate Adventure (2014) for Digital Playground, Tramp Camp (2016) for Vouyer Media, the Extreme Comixxx parody release Batgirl V Supergirl (2017), Hot Orgasms 2 (2017) for Elegant Angel and Lesbian Muff Munchers 5 (2017) for X-Rated Films.
Fans of Sunny Lane will not want to miss out on viewing her recent group shoot with Loni Legend, Zelda Morrison and Ryan Ryder in Will Ryder’s smash hit Adam & Eve comedy release Bad Babes Inc. (2017). Also starring famous female performers Katie Morgan, Adriana Chechik, Kat Dior, Luna Star, Sarah Vandella, Tiffany Watson, Kimberly Chi, Whitney Wright and Tanner Mayes, Bad Babes Inc. was a critical and commercial success which received a wealth of “Comedy Release of the Year”, “Best Screenplay”, “Best Makeup”, “Best Editing” and “Best Art Direction” at the 2018 AVN and XBIZ Awards.
