Let’s face it; Chanel Preston is one of the biggest performers in the adult industry. Named as Penthouse magazine’s “Pet of the Month” in March 2012, Chanel has received countless nominations at the AVN, XBIZ and XRCO Awards since she first began performing in porn in 2010. Chanel has even been featured in mainstream magazines such as Cosmopolitan and she has launched her own sex education web series, Naked With Chanel, that we’ll cover later in this bio.
Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, Chanel Preston has mixed English, German and Spanish heritage. Growing up in Alaska, Chanel became skilled at snowboarding and snow machining. In fact, Chanel has mentioned in previous interviews that her family had seven snow machines which enabled her to explore the great outdoors.
As well as her outdoor interests Chanel has always been a natural born performer and when asked about her early childhood within her March 2010 AVN: Fresh Off The Bus interview Chanel expressed that;
“I grew up acting. I was like the little girl that controlled everything. I was in elementary school writing plays for all my friends. ‘OK, now let’s get together and act this out during recess…I did a lot of Shakespeare theatre and made my mother put me in any drama-related programs whatsoever. … So I was like I’m pretty sure I can still act so I’m sure I can do this”.
You may not believe it but Chanel was actually part of her school’s mixed wrestling team. In her junior high school wrestling years Chanel even won a takedown tournament! Chanel explained within her December 2013 Adult DVD Talk interview how;
“I was just normal and down-to-earth. Even when I was younger, I just had guy friends. They always liked me and hung out with me so I always got attention. (laughs)…In my school, there were 3 girl wrestlers on the team and we would just wrestle boys. It was sort of unfair because a guy that weighs the same as us would be much stronger. (laughs) The guys could get to a pretty low body fat percentage and a female can’t. So we were only allowed to be at 20% body fat where a guy could be at 5% or something. So it was unfair but that doesn’t mean we didn’t win. (laughs) It was fun and I liked it because it was challenging physically. It’s a pretty tough sport and they really condition you”.
Always eager to experiment with new experiences, Chanel dabbled in a variety of extracurricular activities ranging from swimming, community theatre and piano recitals to playing the trumpet, painting and partying! Chanel divulged within her AVN: Fresh Off The Bus interview that;
“I’ll be honest. I was kind of stoner. I liked to party a lot. But I got into some trouble. So by the time I got into my junior year I had straightened up and I was just normal going to school, working. But before that I was a stoner, party girl. But yeah I just wanted to have a good time pretty much…I was always doing different stuff, so I had something on my mind that I wanted to try then I would do it then it would last for a little while and then I would do the next thing so I’ve probably done a little bit of everything”.
Within this AVN: Fresh Off The Bus interview Chanel revealed how she lost her virginity when she was 15 years old;
“I was stoned….I can’t remember much about it, honestly. I had the typical after a party, drunk and stoned. It was very movie-like. It was actually with a good friend and I’m still good friends with him to this day. So lucky me it wasn’t with someone disgusting or gross. So I can’t say it was a good experience but it wasn’t bad”.
Chanel has explored numerous career avenues before becoming an adult film star. For instance, Chanel managed her father’s coffee shop in Alaska after graduating from high school.
But when she was 19 years old everything changed. Chanel moved to Hawaii with one of her best friends whereupon she began working as a bartender and cocktail waitress at various nightclubs and wine bars. Chanel explained within her AVN: Fresh Off The Bus interview that this move to Hawaii was an impulsive decision;
“It was kind of impulsive. My best friend had moved there a year before I did. And I was dating someone and ….something happened and I ended up breaking up with him and I thought you know I want to get out of here. I figured it’d be an easy move because she already lived there and I’ve been stuck there ever since”.
Once she had grown disillusioned with the restaurant industry, Chanel began working as a manager for a skin care line at Nordstrom’s; a job which enabled her to acquire her aesthetician’s license. Chanel discussed within her AVN: Fresh Off The Bus interview how;
“I kind of have a passion for skin care. Well I originally was trying to get into makeup artistry. I wanted to do that and then I started to care more about what’s underneath the makeup…So I got my license and I really wanted to go into the medical field with it. I wanted to get into medical aesthetics. But it’s so hard in Hawaii…it’s hard enough to get any job and then especially aesthetician work …I did aesthetician work at Nordstrom’s. There was an actual salon there so I did the facials and everything. And if it wasn’t so focused on retail I would probably have stayed there. But it’s Nordstrom’s so it’s sell, sell sell!…It still interests me though. I still enjoy reading about cosmetics. Even cosmetic dermatology is very intriguing to me”.
But here’s the question we all want answered; how did Chanel begin performing in porn?
Well, although Chanel loved learning about skin care treatments she hated her job at Nordstrom’s so she decided to inject some excitement into her life by taking a job as an erotic dancer at a local club in Hawaii. Chanel explained within her Adult DVD Talk interview that it was working as a stripper and travelling around the United States performing in gentlemen’s clubs that eventually resulted in her pursuing her adult film career;
“I hated working at Nordstrom’s so I quit and I didn’t have a job. I thought I would try stripping. My boyfriend at the time was a male stripper. And so I tried it and I really liked it. I’m a really adventurous person and I like change and travelling so it was exciting for me. And in the process of doing that, I actually met a lady who got me into porn. She asked if I would consider doing it and she thought I’d do really well”.
This ‘lady’ was adult film manager Nakita Kash whom Chanel met at a gentlemen’s club convention. Chanel described this initial meeting with Nakita which kick-started her porn star career within her AVN: Fresh Off The Bus interview;
“I am a dancer so she has a travelling entertainers’ thing where she sends girls to different clubs. And I contacted her because I wanted to travel a little bit, and that’s where I met her. And then I actually asked her how she got into it and she told me she did porn and I was kind of curious about it and we got to talking and it just kind of evolved from there. I think she trusted that I was in it for the right reasons so…I told her I was interested. I had to think about it and I was like I want to do that because I love dancing but I’m kind of over the hustling part. So I told her I think I’d enjoy porn a lot more than dancing. So she kind of helped me along and she’s managing me now”.
Chanel Preston : Adult Film Career
Here’s the deal; after working as a stripper since 2009 and posing nude for several art modelling shoots, Chanel was booked to film her first ever hardcore sex scenes in January 2010 with Nick Manning for the Vivid Entertainment series Brand New Faces. Describing shooting her first ever sex scenes within her Adult DVD Talk interview, Chanel revealed that;
“I was nervous beforehand but once they said ‘action’, I was actually fine. It was just up to that point. I told the lady that got me in that I didn’t want my first scene to be, ‘I’m brand new!’ and they want you to act naïve. And that’s exactly what it was, Brand New Faces for Vivid. And it was with Nick Manning so that was definitely and interesting first. But he was great and it wasn’t a real big crew. But it was fine and after that, it was real easy. I never had a problem, I was very comfortable”.
After filming her first sex scenes for Brand New Faces, Chanel performed in a Jack’s POV boy/girl sex scene with Scott Nails. Describing this sophomore shoot within her AVN: Fresh Face interview, Chanel noted how;
“I did Jack’s POV for Robby D. with Scott Nails. I liked him. He was a gentleman. It was kind of, not a very serious scene. They were supposed to shoot a feature that day, some scenes for a feature, but it didn’t work out so they decided just to shoot some POV scenes. So it was fun”.
It gets even better; in 2010 Chanel earned her first even adult film acting role for the Wicked Pictures production Hooked with Jessica Drake and Eva Angelina. Chanel described how she earned this starring role within her AVN: Fresh Off The Bus interview;
“We were talking with them when we were at the AVN’s and Jessica was like, ‘Oh she needs to play Claire,’ and [Brad Armstrong] was like, ‘But that’s kind of an older lady.’ I’m supposed to pimp her out. We’re both call girls and I’m trying to make money off of her. She’s like ‘No she has to play Claire she’d be perfect for it.’ So he gave me the chance to play her and it was kind of a big deal because it was my first type of role. … I wanted to play Claire. I said this is my part, this is me! I can do this! So I’m very thankful to Brad for giving me the opportunity to do that”.
Want to know to best part? Following her adult film debut, Chanel began to feature within a wealth of Wicked Pictures productions including 4Some (2010) with Jessica Drake and Kaylani Lei, and Speed (2010) with Jessica Drake and Tori Black which won “Best Epic” at the 2010 XRCO Awards.
You might be wondering about Chanel’s first ever DVD feature release. Filmed in May 2010 for 3rd Degree, Bikini Land (2010) featured Chanel in a saucy sex scene with Pat Myne. Chanel swiftly followed her debut DVD feature release with her first ever DVD cover model role in the Jules Jordan Video production Fashion Fucks (2010) with Alexis Texas, Aleska Diamond, Nikki Benz, Brynn Tyler and Lexi Belle. Fashion Fucks was nominated for “Best High-End All-Sex Release” at the 2011AVN Awards and paved the way for Chanel to earn her first ever magazine cover model shoot for France’s premier adult film magazine Hot Video in October 2010.
You’ve probably seen countless fantastic anal releases featuring Chanel Preston over the years but it was actually in November 2010 that Chanel filmed her first ever anal sex scenes with Toni Ribas for the Jules Jordan Video production Dangerous Curves. This popular DVD feature went on to be nominated for “Best Gonzo Release” at the 2012 AVN and XRCO Awards.
Bottom line? In the years that followed Chanel began to film a wealth of raunchy double vag and double anal sex scenes. Talking about shooting these saucy scenes within her Adult DVD Talk interview, Chanel commented that;
“I had to try it because I wanted to. (laughs) OK, I’ll say it’s something I wouldn’t do in my personal life but I’m a performer and I love to perform. So to do something crazy on film and get off from that and I like it. So the crazier it is for me, the more enjoyable for me. But in my personal life, I’m not like that. I don’t have that performer mindset. It’s not the same”.
This wild and adventurous nature has even led to Chanel taking a baseball bat up her ass in the 2013 Evil Angel production Ass Party 3! When she was asked about this amazing anal sex scene within her Adult DVD Talk interview, Chanel revealed how;
“I really wasn’t expecting to do that. It was one of those days where I was like, ‘Oh, girl/girl anal, ok, whatever’. I wasn’t really thinking in my head because there’s a difference between doing girl/girl anal and doing a Mandingo anal scene. Anikka is great, obviously, but she’s not as experienced anally and it was for Evil Angel and Joey so I thought I could amp this up a little bit. (laughs) So then I got in the mindset of, ‘I’m going to shove this baseball bat in there’. (laughs)…It’s hard to describe the feeling of stretching your butt. It’s not painful it’s just a really intense feeling. It can be painful if you do it wrong. But if you do it right, it’s just an intense feeling”.
Another landmark moment in Chanel’s career came in 2013 when she filmed her first interracial scenes with Prince Yahshua for the Adam & Eve production Perfect Secretary 3: The New Recruit. Also starring Riley Reid and Dana DeArmond, Perfect Secretary 3: The New Recruit was nominated for “Best BDSM Release” at the 2014 AVN Awards.
Chanel Preston : Fetish Porn Star & BDSM Content
Ever been curious about Chanel’s kinkster side? Then you’ll be happy to hear that from the very beginning of her adult film career Chanel has performed in a wide range of femdom and BDSM content for the fetish porn site Kink.com.
Believe it or not, Chanel’s very first Kink.com sex scene, The New Starlet of the Year Fucks Machines in a Cowboy Bar, was distributed in September 2010 as part of Kink.com‘s Fucking Machines web series. Adds a whole new meaning to the term Bucking Bronco!
It gets even better; since this initial solo fetish shoot Chanel has been a frequent feature within Kink.com‘s Whipped Ass, Divine Bitches, Electro Sluts, Foot Worship, Hardcore Gangbang, Public Disgrace and The Upper Floor web franchises and she has performed alongside prominent porn stars such as Aiden Starr, Tanya Tate, Casey Calvert, Penny Pax, Bella Rossi, Riley Reid, Lorelei Lee, Phoenix Marie, Maitresse Madeline Marlowe and Anikka Albrite among many more!
Let’s be honest, all of us have some pretty freaky fantasies. In fact, Chanel has revealed within her Adult DVD Talk interview that shooting for sites such as Kink.com has enabled her to live out all of her feisty sexual fantasies. As Chanel enthusiastically stated;
“Oh my God, I’ve already lived out my fantasies! I loved my gang bang for Kink, not that the actual storyline was a fantasy of mine, I was like a Queen. But it was just such an intense thing for me. The first gang bang I did, I really enjoyed it but I didn’t get to choose my own guys and it was sort of last minute and I wasn’t really in the mindset for it. It was spur of the moment. But the Kink one was really crazy and really intense and I was really ready for it. And so afterward it was really cool and I’d say that was the ultimate fantasy for me to experience something intense like that”.
Chanel Preston : Awards & Nominations
Bottom line? From late 2010 onwards Chanel’s adult film career entered a whole new stratosphere. Not only was she booked for numerous cover model shoots for Cheri and Club magazines, but she was also named as IGN.com‘s “Babe of the Day” in December 2010, she was featured in the April 2011 issue of High Society, and she was named by Gram Ponante as the winner of his 2011 Ropey Volley “Pornographers to Watch Out For” Award.
Here’s the deal; Chanel was also featured as “Model of the Month” for the hip-hop website RapIndustry.com in February 2011, she was featured in an article for Canada’s premiere gaming website ConsoleCreatures.com in March 2011 and she was named Dr. Jay’s “Performer of the Week” on XCritic.com in February 2012.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, in February 2012 Chanel launched her official solo website and by March 2013 Chanel had been ranked as the #1 Top Performer by AEBN.net (the most trafficked VOD site in the world!). Chanel has also been voted one of the Top 100 Hottest Porn Stars by Complex magazine and has featured within a spread for the March 2015 issue of Hustler magazine.
What’s her secret? Well, many of notable adult film industry achievements can be attributed to Chanel Preston’s seductive charm, amicable appeal and global fan following. Chanel’s popularity has spread from the US all the way to Australia; in fact Chanel was even voted as the No. 1 model on the Australian gaming and entertainment website ImpulseGamer.com in July 2010! As Chanel enthusiastically expressed to AVN reporters in 2010;
“It’s completely surreal to think about the fact I have a following all the way in Australia…Sometimes I forget how small the world becomes due to social networking and the internet. Thank you to all the guys and girls at ImpulseGamer.com for introducing me to tons of new people. That’s more people for me to fantasize about as I approach orgasm during an extremely naughty session on set”.
You may be wondering where can Chanel Preston go from here? As matters stand, Chanel has already made multiple mainstream media appearances such as performing within Aerosmith keyboard player Russ Irwin’s 2012 music video “Get Me Home” and featuring within rapper Waka Flocka Flame’s 2015 music video “Bust”.
So what are some of Chanel’s most impressive award wins? You can’t overlook her reign as Penthouse magazine’s “Pet of the Month” in March 2012 and being named on CNBC‘s annual “The Dirty Dozen: Porn’s Most Popular Stars” list in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Thrilled to receive these awards and this type of broad-stream praise and acceptance from her fans, fellow porn stars and adult film critics, Chanel enthused within an AVN press release after winning “Best New Starlet” at the XRCO Awards how;
“It’s a pretty amazing year. I can’t believe the amount of attention I’ve received, starting back in April 2010 when I was first publicly honored with a role as XRCO’s Trophy Girl. I know XRCO’s faith in me has been integral to my success and the recent string of awards the industry has bestowed on me is mind-boggling and humbling. With all this in mind, I would like to thank the X-Rated Critics Organization for their acknowledgement”.
Similarly, after winning “Best New Performer” at the first ever Galaxy Awards, Chanel sincerely expressed that;
“Receiving The Galaxy Awards’ Best New Female Performer honor is amazing, but learning that it was decided by my colleagues like Katsuni, Jenna and Mick makes me incredibly proud. When you add in the fan vote portion of the awards, I’m left speechless. It seems like everyone had a hand in presenting me with the award, and it is extremely validating. I couldn’t ask for a better first year. Thank you”.
Chanel Preston : Directorial Debut
Many adult film superstars have launched impressive directing careers so you may be wondering about Chanel Preston? If so then you’re totally correct!
It all began in 2015 when Chanel directed her first ever girl/girl pornographic production, Chanel Movie One, and her first boy/girl production, Smoke, after discussing the idea with fellow adult film star James Deen. As James himself stated within a December 2015 AVN interview;
“One time Chanel was speaking to me about the philosophy of presenting something which could be conceived as scary in a beautiful way. My response was to ask if she had ever thought of directing…Chanel presented me with a treatment for her idea, and I thought it was one of the most creative and clever ideas I had heard in quite a while…After a quick conversation about aesthetics, it was clear we were on the same page, and I could trust her with taking the reins and producing an amazing project … one I hope will be her first of many”.
Distributed in January 2015, Chanel Movie One starred Claire Robbins, Dahlia Sky, Dana DeArmond, Dani Daniels, Sovereign Syre, Zoey Monroe, Veruca James and Phoenix Marie. Chanel’s directing debut was a smash-hit; impressing her fans and film critics alike and earning Chanel a “Best All-Girl Group Sex Scene” at the 2016 AVN Awards for her performance with Dahlia Sky and Dani Daniels. Discussing her directorial debut within an AVN press release, Chanel praised her stellar all-girl cast;
“All the girls have crazy sexual energy. They are amazing performers loving what they do, and the camera captures all of it. I am very proud of the movie because it’s visually stunning and sensual…I think the hardest part of directing has definitely been naming the project. Chanel Movie One started off as a joke between the crew, but its simplicity and directness started to grow on us—it’s definitely easy for anyone to remember!”.
So no pressure for her sophomore project!
Fortunately Chanel’s second directing project, Smoke, was another critical and commercial success; earning Chanel directing award nominations such as “Best Fetish/Specialty Release” at the 2015 Nightmoves Awards”, “Fetish Release of the Year” at the 2016 XBIZ Awards and “Best Director: Non-Feature” at the 2016 AVN Awards.
Also starring Dana DeArmond, Aidra Fox, Marika Hase and Emma Snow, Smoke even earned Chanel a “Best Three-Way Sex Scene” nomination at the 2016 AVN Awards for her performance with Dana DeArmond and Isaiah Maxwell. Chanel conveyed her gratitude to James Deen for enabling her to direct her first ever pornographic productions within an AVN press release;
“I’m very honored and thankful to James Deen Productions for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to pursue my goals in the adult industry. It’s truly a great day when you can join with an outstanding company which shares your passion and creative vision”.
So what happened next? Thus far, Chanel has continued to direct a wealth of devilishly delightful DVDs including Too Pretty For Porn (2015) with A.J. Applegate, Nikki Darling, Aria Alexander and Aria Thomas which was nominated for “Best Anthology Movie” at the 2016 AVN Awards and All In Your Head (2015) with Anikka Albrite, Keira Nicole, Casey Calvert and Keisha Grey.
Chanel Preston : Adult Film Blogger
Here’s something we can all agree on; Chanel Preston is an incredibly versatile porn star. Not only is she an award-nominated performer and director, but she has also established herself as a prolific adult film blogger.
It all began in April 2010 when Chanel launched her own blog on XCritic.com which soon began to amass an ardent fan following due to her insightful articles such as The Battle Against Sex, My Mental Clitoris and Changing The World One Dick (Or Five) At A Time.
But it gets even better! Chanel was named as the first ever Adult Empire guest blogger in October 2010 and she has since collaborated with multiple mainstream media publications such as Vox.com on their multi-page feature article Coming Out as a Porn Star as well as Cosmopolitan magazine.
In fact, one of Chanel’s most popular feature articles was published in Cosmopolitan magazine in January 2014 titled “4 Porn Stars On How They Keep Fit”. This article featured Chanel and her fellow porn stars Asa Akira, Jessie Andrews and Dana DeArmond sharing their personal diet and exercise routines. This fan-favourite feature article was inspired by Gabrielle Union’s Conan O’Brien interview within which she revealed that she copies the diet and fitness regimes of the porn stars that she encounters within her local gym.
Where could she possibly go from here? Well, Chanel swiftly followed this popular post with a follow-up article titled The Food Diary of a Porn Star in February 2014. This Cosmopolitan article provided fans with an exclusive glimpse into a typical week in the life of Chanel Preston.
Thanks to the popularity of these articles, Chanel has continued to collaborate with Cosmopolitan; actively participating in Cosmo Live : Q&A with a Porn Star in April 2014. Chanel also taken part in numerous Ravishly.com podcasts, she has personally reviewed the 50 Shades of Grey trailer for FilmSchoolRejects in July 2014, she has held interviews with Crave Online and she has been featured in articles for The Daily Beast, IGN.com and CreativeLoafing.com among many others.
Chanel has been incredibly grateful to receive these blogging opportunities, noting within previous interviews how;
“I’ve been fortunate to have many amazing sites introduce me to their readers. It’s a wonderful opportunity to expand my visibility and make people aware of the movies I’ve performed in. Thank you to all the sites”.
Chanel Preston : Adult Entertainment Advocacy Projects
Let’s be honest, adult film stars are often perceived as superficial. But not Chanel Preston!
Chanel has always been an intelligent and conscientious individual who is unafraid to speak her mind on important issues which impact adult film professionals. As a result ,Chanel was named Takedown Piracy‘s “Star of the Month” in February 2012 due to her ongoing efforts to preserve the working rights of adult film professionals.
Under this role, Chanel fought to highlight the infringements of performers’ copyright laws in the media and to educate consumers on how they can help their favourite porn stars to protect their adult film content. As Chanel stated within a February 2012 AVN press release;
“I am proud to be selected as a spokesperson for Takedown Piracy’s anti-piracy campaign…It is important to educate fans on content theft and how it can and will lead to the destruction of the movies they love to watch. I truly believe most fans want to do right by the adult industry, which is why I’m giving away a free membership for my website to one of the fans reporting piracy this month”.
You won’t believe what happened when City National Bank put this resolve to the test!
It all began in May 2013 when Chanel spoke out when she was one of several adult film stars to be refused service from City National Bank due to their porn star professions. Chanel told her story to CNBC and revealed within their feature article Porn and Banks: Drawing a Line on Loans that;
“[The loan officer] asked me ‘are you affiliated with the adult entertainment industry?’ When I said yes, she said ‘We will not give you a loan’”.
Chanel also told her story to TMZ Live via a Skype call, explaining to TMZ chief Harvey Levin how;
“The reasoning they gave me was fairly evasive, but I know it had something to do with the webcam option on my website, which has nothing to do with the bank. But they weren’t very clear about what it was about the webcam. It sort of seemed as if for them it was sort of risky, like I was going to do risky, illegal activity on the webcam and they were not in control of that, but I don’t see why that would be their responsibility. The webcam website takes their own precautions to alleviate illegal activity”.
You may be wondering where Chanel’s advocacy work took her next?
Well, in a totally unheard of move, in 2013 Chanel became the president and co-founder of the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC); the first ever coalition of its kind dedicated to protecting the rights of adult film performers.
Believe it or not, Chanel was instrumental in facilitating the alliance formed between the 250 members of APAC and the First Entertainment Credit Union which ensured that performers had legitimate banking rights. Chanel continues to lead initiatives which better educate adult film stars on their working rights. As Chanel stated within a 2015 Daily Beast article;
“I want to see performers educated. When people are educated they make better decisions for themselves,” says Preston. “There’s no centralized place to go for accurate information, so you’re either relying on your agent or your peers and you have to hope they’re telling you the truth”.
It gets even better; Chanel remains dedicated to educating porn stars and society in general on issues relating to sexual health. In order to do so, in March 2014 Chanel launched her own sex education web series; Naked With Chanel. This weekly web series endeavoured to dispel sexual health myths and offer non-nonsense relationship advice and a realistic perspective on healthy sexuality from the perspective of a seasoned adult film performer.
It’s truly incredible how the fundraising website IndieGogo enabled Chanel’s fans and colleagues to help her raise enough funds to develop the Naked With Chanel website and to film its initial webisodes. Chanel has been incredibly grateful to her fans for their ongoing support and fundraising campaigns, sincerely expressing within her AVN interview that;
“I want to help people shed the inhibitions and negative attitudes currently keeping them from understanding themselves better…I want to address social issues surrounding sexuality in America and help people become more informed about how our attitudes about sex are affecting our lives…In my time in [the adult] industry, I have seen people’s lives change when they are given the tools to feel more comfortable with themselves which, in turn, has lead them to make better decisions…I decided to go with Indiegogo.com because it allows me the chance to make this a community project from the very beginning…By inviting my fans, friends, and all supporters of sex-positive platforms to be ‘investors’ in Naked With Chanel, it allows everyone to be a part of this entire project”.
You may be wondering where Chanel’s advocacy work has taken her in recent years? Well, Chanel has spoken out on important adult film issues such as the use of the term ‘interracial’ with regards to marketing within the adult film industry. As Chanel advocated within her April 2014 C.J. Asher interview;
“I don’t feel like everyone uses the term interracial in the same way. I do feel that some, and hopefully most, use the term primarily for marketing purposes as that is a popular niche that has been created over time. However, that is not to say that there isn’t some level of racism in the industry as it relates to the term”.
Chanel elaborated on these opinions within her April 2015 Interracial Porn 411 interview, noting how;
“I think it’s more marketing [than racism]. However, I think there is another overt racism issue as it relates to pay for performers. I’ve spoken to a few performers who felt that the pay was not the same. A girl has told me that, “if I wasn’t black I feel that I would be getting paid more to do these scenes.” I had to agree with her…I would not feel comfortable ever charging more to work with a black male performer. Some may say that it’s a “specialty niche” and I charge more for that niche. However, me personally that’s just something that I won’t do”.
Chanel Preston : Feature Dancer & Hosting Projects
As well as managing her own show, Chanel loves hosting and performing to her fans in a live setting. Drawing upon her dancing and theatrical talents, in June 2012 Chanel made her feature dance debut at Philadelphia’s premier sports club, Cheerleaders, in Pittsburgh. Taking about her feature dance debut in an AVN press release, Chanel conveyed that;
“I’ve been looking forward to this…I got my start as an exotic dancer and this is a chance to get back to my roots in a city already filled with history. I look forward to making a little history there myself”.
You’ll be happy to hear that Chanel has since made multiple exclusive feature dance appearances at the Sapphire nightclub in New York City and at the Blue Zebra Cabaret club in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. Chanel even launched a Pacific Northwest feature dancing tour which enabled her to dance for her fans in Oregon within the Silver Dollar Club in Eugene, The Sunset Strip in Portland and the Firehouse Cabaret club in Salem.
You’ve probably heard of her fantastic feature dancing tours but did you know that Chanel has also pursued a career as a radio talk show host? No word of a lie, Chanel has worked as a guest moderator on Sex Talk Tuesdays in April 2014 where she responded to thousands of Tweets from adoring fans who were eager to seek her advice on life, love, sex and relationship issues. Chanel was also a guest on RT America‘s political and pop culture talk show Watching the Hawks in March 2015. Is there anything Chanel can’t do?
You may be wondering why Chanel decided to work as a guest moderator? Well Chanel’s hosting career actually began all the way back in 2010 when she was chosen to be a trophy girl at the XRCO Awards as a “Heart On Girl”.
Following a successful hosting debut, Chanel was soon sought after to be a trophy girl at the 2010 F.A.M.E. Awards and the 2011 AVN Awards. At the end of January 2014 Chanel was even chosen to co-host the annual AVN Awards ceremony with her friend and fellow porn star Samantha Saint and she enthused within her post AVN Awards interview how;
“I had such a blast co-hosting the Awards with Samantha and Rebekah…It was so much fun… and to receive an award for my performance in Get My Belt is such an honor! I’m still buzzing from having experienced the most amazing AVN Awards ever. Thank you to everyone with AVN who helped make this night amazing!”.
Here’s the bottom line; following her steady stream of successful hosting gigs, in February 2015 Chanel was chosen to host the Showtime documentary X-Rated: The Greatest Adult Movies of All Time which highlighted some of greatest adult movies ever produced and offered in-depth interviews with some of the biggest stars in the industry. Chanel discussed the process of shooting this popular documentary within her Fleshbot interview, conveying that;
“I have worked closely with Plausible Films on other projects in the past couple years, like “Adult Insider,” which goes behind the scenes of the adult entertainment industry – so they were familiar with my work as a host. I know I was one of the first considered to host “X-Rated: The Greatest Adult Movies of All-Time,” but they did hold an audition, and fortunately, I made the cut. I was very excited to be a part of this project since it was an opportunity to show the adult film industry in a different and interesting way, from its rise to prominence in the 70s through its evolution to today…
Despite the stereotypes and assumptions by many that pornography seems to lack depth, I’d like people to see that the adult film industry has a lot of history, and this rich history has affected not only the porn industry itself, but also society as a whole. So many of these movies had such a huge impact on our culture, and they have all contributed in some way to where we are today”.
What’s next for Chanel Preston? Currently, Chanel loves hosting X3Sixty for the adult entertainment website InsideAdult.com because it enables her to show her fans exclusive behind-the-scenes content. Chanel has expressed within previous interviews that, in the long term, she would love to pursue more adult film presenting roles and mainstream media hosting projects;
“I really like doing the hosting because I’ve been hosting for Adult Insider and for the Expo so I’d love to go in that direction. I don’t know exactly where or what I want to be doing, but I definitely like the hosting thing. Whether it’s doing talk shows or out on the street, something along those lines”.
As well as her plethora of performing, directing, blogging and hosting projects, Chanel has also mentioned in her recent C.J. Asher interview that she is finishing up her psychology degree. Seriously, is there anything Chanel Preston can’t do?!
