Without a doubt, Jessica Drake one of the most successful adult film stars of all time. A multi-talented porn star, model, feature dancer, director, writer, certified sexual health educator and mainstream actress, Jessica has completely dominated the adult film industry for the past 18 years with her Wicked Pictures feature releases, her pioneering Jessica Drake’s Guide To Wicked Sex DVD series and her award-nominated porn parody collaborations with Axel Braun and Brad Armstrong such as Rocki Whore Picture Show (2011), Men In Black: A Hardcore Parody (2012) Snow White XXX (2014), Sleeping Beauty XXX (2014), Barbarella XXX (2015) and Supergirl XXX (2016). When it comes to Jessica Drake’s adult film career, the sky’s the limit!
Before she became the adult film superstar that her fans know and love, Jessica was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. During her childhood years Jessica was a quiet, honors class student and she has explained in her May 2015 Adult DVD Talk interview that;
“I had a pretty regular upbringing with my mom and dad and I had a little brother. I went to private school for about 8 years about the beginning of my education. I was pretty nerdy in school. I was in honors classes. I was skinny my whole life, had no boobs, got picked on a lot. I was definitely bullied all throughout middle school and the first part of high school. That’s something a lot of people don’t know but I think that happens to everybody in some way, shape or form. Kids can be cruel. I went to college for a while because I thought that was what I was supposed to do. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. I was a liberal arts major. I took some psychology courses and really enjoyed them…
I ended up meeting some people in Texas that were in the adult industry. I didn’t know what capacity they were in inside the industry. Come to fine out it was Michael Raven, who turned out to be a contract director for Wicked. He has since retired. I also met some performers and they offered to show me the ropes. I didn’t think that was for me and after about 6 months to a year, I came out to California, took a look around and started to meet people. I started to figure out what the business was all about, it was completely different then. A little while after that, I did some softcore work; I did some stuff for HBO, Cinemax and Showtime and Playboy TV. I was Bikini Girl #4 (laughs)”.
During this May 2015 Adult DVD Talk interview Jessica revealed that she lost her virginity when she was 16 years old. Jessica did not have any prior experiences with porn before losing her virginity and has explained how losing her virginity proved to be a turning point in her life;
“When I lost my virginity, something changed for me when I discovered the act of sex. I was really curious about sex before I started having it because I didn’t really have any resources and my parents weren’t comfortable teaching me what sex was all about. I didn’t get any realistic sex education. I lost my virginity right before I turned 16. It was a high school sweetheart. I was with him for a very long time, even for a while after that. I lost my virginity with a condom. We put a lot of thought and research into it. Of course, it wasn’t great the first time but it wasn’t bad and it definitely made me want more sex…
I had already kissed a girl before I lost my virginity to a guy. Shortly after losing my virginity, in a matter of months, I had a threesome with my boyfriend and my best friend…I’ve always been into women. Really liked women”.
After graduating from high school Jessica attended a community college in El Paso and then moved on to the University of Texas-El Paso where she studied liberal arts before switching her major to Psychology. During this time Jessica began performing as a stripper in local gentlemen’s clubs in Texas. After a year and a half of college, Jessica decided to quit and pursue her dream of becoming a feature dancer. In this manner, Jessica progressed from stripping to feature dancing, which in itself evolved into soft-core modelling for magazines and Playboy TV and which eventually expanded into a career in the adult film industry. Jessica discussed this pivotal period of her life in her November 2014 Adult DVD Talk interview and explained how;
“I was stripping in Texas and going to school, but wanted to try feature dancing. I went to a local club that was having a contest, and ended up meeting Michael Raven & other people in the business. It took me almost a year of visiting LA and dancing out here, doing softcore work and posing for magazines- then I ended up trying movies”.
Jessica Drake : Adult Film Career
Jessica filmed her first ever sex scenes in 1999 and for the next two years she performed exclusively as a contract girl for Sin City Studios until her contract expired in May 2002. Some of Jessica’s most popular porn productions filmed during this time include Midas Touch (1999), Belle du Jour (2000), Shayla’s Web (2000) which earned Jessica the coveted “Best Tease Performance” accolade at the 2001 AVN Awards, Jessica Drake AKA Filthy Whore (2001) and American Girls 1 (2002) that was nominated for “Best DVD” at the 2003 AVN Awards. Talking about these early years during her May 2015 Adult DVD Talk interview, Jessica divulged that;
“I did my first movie for Michael Raven and I did a boy/girl sex scene before I did girls. I had played with girls in my personal life and when a lot of girls come into the industry, they kind of dip their toe in and go kind of slow. I didn’t really do that. I was independent for a while and then signed a contract with a small company for a small period of time. They didn’t really shoot me which worked to my favour”.
A defining moment in Jessica’s adult film career occurred in 2003 when she signed an exclusive performance contract with prominent production company Wicked Pictures. This performance contract marked the beginning of a steady stream of smash-hit DVD feature releases for Jessica such as Fluff and Fold (2004) for which Jessica won “Best Actress: Video” at the 2005 AVN Awards and “Best Single Performance – Actress” at the 2005 XRCO Awards, Manhunters (2006) for which Jessica won “Best Actress: Film” at the 2007 AVN Awards and Hush (2009) that earned Jessica another “Best Actress” nomination at the 2010 AVN Awards.
Some of Jessica’s most popular Wicked Pictures feature releases include About Jessica (2011) that was nominated for “Best Comedy” at the 2012 AVN Awards, Horizon (2011) also starring Aiden Starr, Andy San Dimas and Kimberly Kane that won “Movies You Can Give to People Who Don’t Normally Like Porn” at the 2011 Ropey Volley Awards, Underworld (2013) that collected 9 AVN Awards in 2014 and which was named “One Of the Greatest Adult Films Of All Time” during a 2015 X-Rated documentary and Aftermath (2014) which enabled Jessica to share an epic group sex scene with Asa Akira, Aubrey Addams, Kaylani Lei, Sarah Jessie, Vicki Chase, Brad Armstrong, Erik Everhard, Eric Masterson, Mr. Pete, Ryan McLane and Tyler Nixon.
One of Jessica’s most popular porn productions to date has been the Wicked Pictures feature release Fallen (2008) within which Jessica shone in the lead role as an angel trapped on Earth. Jessica loved shooting Fallen and regards it as her favourite movie that she has ever filmed. Talking about Fallen and some of her other favourite films in her April 2014 Vocativ interview, Jessica eagerly enthused how;
“My all-time favorite movie is Fallen; I did it five years ago and it was a real acting movie. The majority of movies for Wicked are very plot-driven, with better story lines, bigger budgets and cooler locations. A movie I did recently, which was kind of along the same lines, is Underworld. And that’s huge, to get all three. I’m also really excited about playing the Evil Queen in Snow White, because I’ve never played a character like that before”.
Jessica’s sensational performance in Fallen resulted in her winning her third “Best Actress” accolade at the 2009 AVN Awards. As such, it was only a matter of time before Jessica was inducted in to the AVN Awards “Hall Of Fame” in 2010 and the XRCO Awards “Hall Of Fame” in 2011. Jessica has since been featured with CNBC’s annual “The Dirty Dozen: Porn’s Most Popular Stars” list in 2014.
In recent years Jessica has starred in such critically acclaimed Wicked Pictures feature releases as Starmaker (2015) that earned her yet another “Best Actress-Feature Release” nomination at the 2016 XBIZ Awards, DNA (2016) also starring Abella Danger, Abigail Mac, Chanel Preston and Asa Akira, Casual Encounters (2016) and Jessica Drake: Wicked Superstar (2016) which enabled Jessica to team up once again with some of her favourite Wicked Pictures alumni Asa Akira, Stormy Daniels and Kaylani Lei.
Due to her scene-stealing moments in these best-selling DVD feature releases, Jessica has earned herself a staggering amount of adult film awards and notable nominations throughout her phenomenal porn star career. Jessica loves attending these prestigious awards ceremonies and remains incredibly grateful for the ongoing support and praise that she continues to receive from her fans, film critics and fellow performers. As Jessica aptly put it during her XCritic interview;
“I take the awards very seriously, and every year I really look forward to the AVN Awards. To me, they are my reward for all my hard work throughout the year, and I love reading the nominations when they’re released”.
As well as receiving these prestigious adult film awards Jessica has also hosted the 2007 AVN Awards alongside comedian Jim Norton. In fact, following her successful hosting of the 2007 AVN Awards, Jessica has hosted the 2009 XRCO Awards alongside fellow blonde bombshell Kayden Kross as well as the 2010 F.A.M.E. Awards with Indian porn superstar Sunny Leone. Is there anything Jessica Drake can’t do?!
Jessica Drake : Directorial Debut & Guide To Wicked Sex Educational DVD Series
In 2007 Jessica began to showcase her directing skills when she co-directed the Wicked Pictures feature release Coming Home (2007) alongside her partner and fellow adult film star Brad Armstrong. Within less than a year Jessica had made her directorial debut with the Wicked Pictures feature release What Girls Like (2008) which she soon followed up with 3 Days In June (2010) starring Dana DeArmond, Briana Blair and Mallory Rae Murphy.
In addition to her directorial prowess, Jessica is also a talented writer who began writing saucy screenplays in 2000 whilst she was still signed with Sin City. Some of Jessica’s most popular screenplays include Dating 101, Love Always and Just Between Us. Upon discussing her various adult film projects in her April 2012 Crave Online interview, Jessica mentioned that;
“My true love is performing. I love having sex on camera, I love playing different characters, but with that being said I get a lot of satisfaction out of the creative part of the process. I’m a bit of a control freak – when I direct a movie, whether it be a feature movie for Wicked or one of my instructionals, I do all of the work myself. I love being a part of that creative process because I get to sit down, look at the finished product and I’m not just proud of my acting, I’m proud of the whole thing because I did it”.
Jessica is internationally renowned for her spectacular sex scenes and raw sexual charisma. Ever eager to share her saucy skills with her loyal fans, Jessica launched her very own Jessica Drake’s Guide To Wicked Sex DVD series for Wicked Pictures (2011-2016) which continues to educate curious couples on a broad spectrum of sexual interests. When she was asked about the inspiration behind this insightful sex education series during her November 2014 Adult DVD Talk interview, Jessica explained how;
“About four years ago, I noticed a change in the demographic of people who were coming out to see us at appearances and conventions- it went from mostly men to suddenly seeing couples to then seeing women. As this happened, I had couples and women asking me for sex advice and it struck me how much I take it for granted that people have access to reliable information and resources…
All of these things that I was hearing made me consider doing seminars & workshops for people looking to have better sex. I did my first one here in LA at The Pleasure Chest and afterward I had quite a few people asking if I had DVDs to go along with our discussions. In an instant, I knew it was what I was meant to be doing. My goal is to provide people with the information I never had growing into my own sexuality, and from the start I knew I wanted to cover a diverse range of topics. It grew into something I’m very passionate about, and I’m grateful to Wicked for the support and encouragement”.
Currently, Jessica has created over a dozen editions of her Jessica Drake’s Guide To Sex series for Wicked Pictures including Anal (2011) which won “Specialty Release of the Year” at the 2012 XBIZ Awards, Fellatio (2011) that won “Best Educational Release” at the 2012 AVN Awards, Basic Positions (2011), Female Masturbation (2011), Anal Play For Men (2012) which won “Best Educational Release” at the 2014 AVN Awards, G Spot And Female Masturbation (2012), Woman To Woman (2013), Plus Size (2014) that won “Specialty Release of the Year” at the 2015 XBIZ Awards, Satisfy Her Like A Legend (2014), The Art Of The Striptease (2014), Foreplay (2015), BDSM For Beginners (2015) and Karma Sutra (2016). Upon discussing her newfound status as a ‘sex guru’ during her March 2013 AIP Daily interview, Jessica commented that;
“Right now, I’m in school to be a certified sex coach and licensed sex educator, so currently, I love the learning process. So many times in my life I’ve been asked for advice by my friends, family, fans and to absorb the textbook knowledge to back up what I instinctively already know is very rewarding. Aside from that, I’d say my favourite part is just being able to help people and to feel that I’ve made a difference in their sex life”.
As a matter of fact, in addition to her Jessica Drake’s Wicked Guide To Sex DVD series, Jessica also hosts seminars and workshops across the country as well as giving speeches on sex education at universities. To date, Jessica has spoken at UCLA in May 2012 where she addressed a class of licensed therapists, she has taken part in a discussion panel on sex education at the Catalyst Con West sexuality conference, and in February 2014 Jessica joined fellow porn star Tasha Reign when they took part in a “Jessica Drake: From Porn To Sex Ed” discussion panel that was organised as part of the University of Chicago’s Sex Week. By taking parts in these University talks, conferences, seminars and workshops, Jessica has been able to address the lack of sufficient sex education in modern society. As Jessica herself has highlighted in previous interviews;
“There is definitely a gap in modern-day, realistic sex education. I think there are certain things that have been left out, whether we’ve been taught or not taught as kids by our parents or by programs in our schools. I’m trying to bridge that gap and talk to as many people as I can. I do seminars and workshops, I speak at universities, so a little bit of everything…
From my personal standpoint, when I was taught about sex it was: penis and vagina; don’t have sex or you’re going to get pregnant; don’t have sex or you’re going to catch a disease and die. No explanation about the fact that sex is pleasurable. Nothing about masturbation. It was very fear-based. I think it’s a combination of not really having enough resources for people and also that, unfortunately for this generation growing up, the only reference to sex or sex ed is downloading free porn on the Internet. I mean, obviously I love porn. I make porn. I perform in porn. I direct it. I think it’s really necessary that we differentiate between “Hey, this is porn, this is something for entertainment, this is a fantasy” versus “This is what sex in your personal life might look like”.

Over the years Jessica has been featured within multiple print and digital articles for Premiere, Chord and Stuff magazine and she was featured in an April 2014 “Meet A Couple Who Designs Costumes For Adult Films” article for Cosmopolitan magazine with her partner Brad Armstrong. Jessica is a strong, confident business woman who has never let the stigmas associated with the adult industry deter her from pursuing these mainstream media projects. As Jessica herself stated in a May 2016 Independent article;
“I got to a point where I stopped being apologetic for my job. I don’t apologise for what I do for a living. I’m not going to let the fact that I have sex on camera inhibit my drive to do other things in other places. I just won’t do it“.
Over the course of her adult film career Jessica has provided her fans with a wealth of saucy web clips, DVD feature releases and lusty live cam shows. Jessica has even unveiled her very own Fleshlight product; a sensational sex toy that has been moulded from Jessica’s own body. In fact, Jessica is also one of a select few porn stars to have been immortalised in life-sized mannequin form by pioneering sex toy manufacturers RealDoll.
First unveiled to a wave of adoring fans at the at the Wicked/RealDoll booth during the 2010 Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), Jessica enthused about her sexy silicone sister and the ingenious ways in which RealDoll managed to recreate her ‘butt dimples’ as well as her lifeline on her hands and the individual shapes of her fingers. As Jessica herself stated during an AVN Live video clip;
“It’s not often I’m speechless…I’m so impressed by that, kinda surreal…I want one, we’re gonna ride in the carpool lane together, I’m gonna make sweet love to myself, wow!”.
In fact, Jessica Drake and her fellow Wicked Pictures contract girls Asa Akira, Kaylani Lei, Lupe Fuentes, Samantha Saint, Alektra Blue and Stormy Daniels have even been known to contact owners of their silicone sisters in order to send items of their own clothing, share some saucy secrets and express their sincere thanks. Jessica Drake : Charity Work & Future Plans
Over the course of her prolific adult film career Jessica has remained committed to supporting several non-profit organisations and to raise awareness towards important issues that adversely impact adult film performers as well as society as a whole. For instance, Jessica has met with state legislators acting on the behalf of the FSC (Free Speech Coalition) and she has even collaborated on a photo essay that was commissioned by the U.N. in 2005.
Since 2009 Jessica has taken part in AIDS Walk LA; an annual fundraising event that has been supporting HIV/AIDS prevention, care and advocacy programs in Los Angeles, California, for over 30 years. Upon discussing her ongoing participation in AIDS Walk LA during her November 2014 Adult DVD Talk interview, Jessica conveyed how;
“About five years ago, I saw ads for the walk and looked into it. Obviously HIV/AIDS is a very important cause, especially being in an industry where we are having sex with each other. After doing the walk solo the first year, I was hooked. I did it the second year and was a Star Walker, and for the third year, I decided to form Team Wicked. In the past three years as a team, we’ve raised over $50,000 for APLA and LA Aids Walk. I also love that they know exactly who we are, and support a porn team raising money for charity. Sometimes people have issues with that”.
The vast majority of Jessica’s charity work is conducted anonymously because she does not want people to misinterpret her work as being part of a public relations campaign. Among some of the man non-profit organisations with which Jessica works are a charity that builds homes and provides clean water to remote impoverished areas, various charitable campaigns in Cambodia, Kenya and Tanzania as well as several non-profit organisations that support victims of domestic abuse.
Throughout her adult film career Jessica has also participated in countless industry talks, University seminars and public campaigns in order to tackle piracy in porn and to address the vast misconceptions that people have regarding the adult industry and its performers. In fact, in February 2014 Jessica and her fellow adult film performer Tasha Reign took part in a UCLA discussion panel titled “Porn, Prostitution And Censorship: The Politics Of Empowerment” alongside UCLA lecturer Dr Christopher Mott. What’s more, in April 2014 Jessica formed part of a discussion panel at the USC School of Cinematic Arts titled “The Piracy Of Sex” wherein she addressed this ever-growing issue with copyright enforcement activist Nate Glass and host David Lerner Ph.D. Upon discussing the social stigmas surrounding porn stars in the mainstream media during her July 2016 Dallas Observer article, Jessica expressed that;
“Based on things that I hear or experience, the more popular myths are that we were sexually abused as children; that we are alcoholics or drug addicts; that we have sex with everyone,; and that porn was a “last resort.” I have also been told things like, “Wow, you’re so smart for a porn star!” Or, “You’re so … normal.” Both of these statements are not actual compliments, and tend to infuriate me”.
With so many adult and mainstream projects in the pipeline, female porn superstar Jessica Drake shows no signs of slowing down any time soon! Upon being asked about her future plans in a May 2015 Adult DVD Talk interview, Jessica conveyed how she will continue performing, feature dancing and directing as long as it continues to make her happy. After all, as Jessica puts it in her own words;
“If you would have asked me 5 years ago where do I see myself today, I would have been so far off the mark. I have no idea. I think it changes constantly. I’ve never had a 3-year, 5-year or 10-year plan. I think you’re boxing yourself in or maybe setting yourself up for disappointment. As long as being on camera makes me happy, I’ll still be on camera. If I’m not having sex, then I’ll be doing my series. In the next couple of years, I’ll be feature dancing. It’s all stuff that’s fun for me. I think I’m good at it and I really enjoy it”.
